Sodium Acetate most commonly finds application for neutralization of sulfuric acid in textile industry, as a pickling agent for chrome tanning, and for vulcanization of chloroprene. It is known to have molecular formula C2H3NaO2 with molar mass of 82.034 g/mol and density of 1.528 g/cm3. This compound appears as white colored deliquescent powder with vinegar-like odor. It is also sometimes used as buffer for various purposes. Sodium Acetate is water soluble in nature and shows melting & boiling points of 324 & 881.4 degrees Celsius respectively. In construction industry, it serves as concrete sealant by mitigating water damage.
